Geez, what is it with me that I stop writing for a looooonnnnngggg time and then feel the need to write. Will this continue? Who knows? Maybe this will be my last posting in a long time again.
So life is good. My bro' is back and good to have him. Another friend to shoot the shit with. I have started a new business that has me excited again. Something about starting a new business that gets the blood flowing. Seems I put all my energy into it maybe to the detriment of other things.....like relationships. Might not get rich on this venture but as most of my new lifestyle, it's another revenue stream.
Spending a lot of time in the mountains and realizing that this mountain town is sooooo similar to AXA. Just without the sea. Small town with all the good and bad that come with that. Have learned from past experience that it is best to stay as anonymous as possible. Another lesson learned from AXA.
Seems my life is a series of lessons learned. The excitement of learning new lessons in the future is exciting and mind blowing. What will the future bring?
Shout out to T for reaching his 16th bday today. And special shout out to J&D for the new beautiful baby they just had.
Keep checking back. Maybe there's news and maybe not. Ahhh....the future!!

Happy Bday
Well 4th of July came and went with plenty of fun and frivolity. Wednesday had started like any other when I met a friend for a beer. He was going to see Moe. A band I had heard of but never seen. Wasn't interested.........until....he told me it was his favorite band and he had seen them over 50 times. Well, me, being the music fan I am said WTF, might as well check 'em out at the Boulder Theater. Glad I did. They could bring it that's for sure. And a light show that rocked. Of course, my thursday meant laying around nursing the hangover from the night before but was able to rally to see the fireworks from Flagstaff Mountain just a short walk up the hill from my house. Was cool watching people hike up the trail at night with flashlights. Looked like Ewoks. Friday brought more fun in Ned as the house/dog sitting continued. Saturday went to Winter Park to camp and see a free concert by Leftover Salmon. A lot of happy people there and the Rocky Mountain high was evident. After a night of camping the trip home brought me through Rocky Mountain National Park. if you ever get the chance to drive through, TAKE IT. Absolutely beautiful country with lot's of moose sightings, marmots, eagles, and altitude!!! Made for a perfect ending to a perfect long weekend. What will this week bring? Who knows but it's gonna rock!!

yee haa
What a wild ride it's been. Life continues to amaze me with the sheer beauty around us and the fun that can be had.
Started the day out yesterday with a long bike ride to get the ole bones loose. From there a short drive up to Ned where I am learning horsemanship. What the hell is that?, is what I ask and you probably did too. Basically, I am learning about horses as animals, friends, and very large pets! They definitely have their own personalities and it's fun trying to figure them out. We all know where a dog likes to be scratched? Behind the ears, maybe the butt. But... where do you scratch a horse! (Not easy to use the word but twice in a row) And how do you know when he's happy? At least a dog wags his tail. When a horse wags his tail, it's cuz he's swattin' flies. Anyway, you get the gist. There's a whole new animal world I'm learning about. So after some hoof cleaning and general rubbing down of this animal, we go out on a ride. Not your standard ride on the path but a ride wherever we want. Through fields, streams, trees. Whatever. And above us for some of the time was an incredible hawk that seemed to be eyeing us as much as we were eyeing him. The deep blue sky making a perfect backdrop for his glides though the aviary world.
Back to the ranch to cool the horses down and then back to a friend's to cook up some chow. (gotta say chow after riding a horse) After eating, as we are sitting enjoying the beautiful sunset, out of the woods not 50 yards away is an elk the size I've never seen with a rack on it that was impressive. I'm easily impressed with large racks though. So what's the difference between a elk and a moose? It was explained to me that an elk is like a deer on steroids, and a moose is like an elk on steroids. Pretty interesting visual but you get it right? Then off to see the Hawks win it all in the last minute and a half.
Phew, so that was all in a day!! Bring on tomorrow.

Spirit
Someone once told me they loved my "spirit". Thought, wow, that's cool. Didn't really know what that meant but took it as a complement. It has come to my attention through reading and pondering that my "spirit" fire has diminished and was just a fluttering lightly burning flicker. The funk of the move to Boulder, the opening/closing of the dispensary, the opening/closing of a relationship, my bro' not being here for a bit, and the lack of a general direction have all conspired to diminish that flame. I need to rekindle that "spirit" flame and get that baby blazing again. So my quest now is to feed that fire and get that baby glowing!! We'll call it feeding my "spirit child". I still believe that good things are happening in my life that I'm not aware of just yet. Like a seed has germinated inside me that is growing and will show itself to me soon. What that is, I don't know, but it's gonna be good.
Every day is something new to be cherished and nurtured. Tomorrow will be different then today and all those yesterdays add up to who I am today. Anyone wanting to add fuel to my "spirit child" is more then welcome.

Island life.
Yesterday was BIG day in Anguilla. The boat races were in full swing AND Anguila's own Shara Proctor qualified in the long jump at the Olympics. The island was beside itself, not knowing whether to watch the national sport of boat racing or watch the daughter of the main grocery store compete. Me? Got to do both from the comfort of my friends restaurant which is right on the sea with sweeping views of the race AND 50 inch flat screens. Quite a turn out to see Shara and cheers went up every time she was shown on the TV. Saw a lot of old acquaintances that I have now realized over the years have become good friends. Funny how living in a small place for so long brings us all together. Everyone thinks that living on a Caribbean island is a dream come true. And it is. But, I can tell you from experience and everyone that lives here will agree, it is not easy. So many things we take for granted in the states are difficult here. It is that sense of "we're all in this together" attitude that make for good friendships. Of course, it makes for a large dysfunctional family as well with warts and all for everyone to see. Nothing is secret!!
Oh, Shara? Happy to say she is the 9th best women's long jumper in the world. Congrats!!

Shout out
This is just a shout out to those of you who have helped me to deal with lost love. I absolutely can not believe the amount of support I have received from so many people. When people have asked me where R is and I have to tell them the story, every single one of them has been supportive and had kind words for me. This coming from women and guys alike. Surprised me how many guys have actually said kind words to me and support me instead of the usual, "yeah, yeah, so who do you think will win the Super Bowl?" Alas, I am seeing that too many people know what love is and what love lost is and nobody wants anyone to go through it. Me? It's my first foray into it after all these years and I can tell you, I never, ever, ever, want to go through it again. Ever. There's an expression that you don't know what you have til it's gone. Well, I knew what I had and miss it terribly.
A special super shout out to my Ma who has been with me every step of the way and knows exactly what I'm going through. She is keeping up hope that cupid's arrow finds its mark again, but keeps me well grounded and level headed. Or at least as level headed as this stubborn head will allow. Thanks Ma for being my Ma and most of all, for being my best friend.

Yo ho ho
Saturday was a sailing day. Went from Cap Jaluca to Sandy Ground. Took about 3 hours with tacks etc. I swear I must have been a pirate in my former life. Something about being on the open sea, the wind blowing through my hair, salt spray keeping me cool, ice cold grog, and turtles swimming by checking us out as much as we're checking them out. Beautiful creatures. But alas, there were no boats to plunder, women to have our ways with, nor booty to be found anywhere. So land ho.
